ACTIVE MATRIX SUBSTRATE AND A DISPLAY DEVICE HAVING A STORAGE CAPACITOR PER PIXEL

PURPOSE: An active matrix substrate and a display device having a storage capacitor per pixel are provided to restrain the degradation of an opening rate and effectively shield light incident in a semiconductor layer. CONSTITUTION: A storage capacitor is formed on a substrate. The first insulation layer(15) is formed on the storage capacitor. A semiconductor layer is formed on the storage capacitor through the first insulation layer(15). A gate insulation layer(17) is formed on the semiconductor layer. A gate electrode layer has a gate electrode(18) formed on the semiconductor layer through the gate insulation layer. The second insulation layer(19) covers the gate electrode layer and the semiconductor layer. The first light shielding layer formed on the semiconductor layer through the second insulation layer covers a channel region of the semiconductor layer. The third insulation layer(22) is formed on the first light shielding layer. A source electrode layer includes a source electrode(24a) and a drain electrode(24b) which are formed on the third insulation layer. The fourth insulation layer(27) is formed on the source electrode layer. A pixel electrode(29) is formed on the fourth insulation layer, and is electrically connected to the drain electrode. The first light shielding layer has conductivity. A drain-side light shielding part(21b) is electrically connected to one of a pair of electrodes of the storage capacitor, and is electrically connected to the drain electrode.
