PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low reflective dispersion multi-cavity filter. SOLUTION: The multi-cavity optical filter is provided with a first end part, a second end part on the opposite side to the first end part and a plurality of filter cavities arranged between the first end part and the second end part. Each filter cavity has a plurality of filter cavities which contain two partially reflective films apart from each other leaving a space, a plurality of the cavities are disposed asymmetrically around the physical center of the filter and, therefore, the multi-cavity optical filter in which the wavelength dispersion of the light reflected from the first end part is different from the wavelength dispersion of the light reflected from the second end part can be obtained.
