ABRASIVE CLOTH FOR GLASS TEXTURE WORKING, AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING MAGNETIC RECORDING MEDIUM USING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide abrasive cloth for texture working for attaining stable high-precision finishing with high polishing efficiency without producing a large flaw on a disk substrate surface in texture working to a glass substrate used for a recording disk.

SOLUTION: This abrasive cloth for glass texture working is a sheet napped on at least one side and formed in integrated structure of a polymeric elastic body and nonwoven fabric wherein bundles of polyester extra-fine short fiber with the average size of 0.01-0.2 dtex are three-dimensionally entangled. The number of fibers in the extra-fine fiber bundle is 10-200, the CV value of fiber diameter in the sheet is 10% or less, the density of the sheet is 0.3-0.5 g/cm3, and the extra-fine short fiber density in the sheet is 0.2-0.4 g/cm3.
