PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical fiber positioning method for highly accurately positioning an optical fiber, and also to provide an optical fiber positioning device and an optical switch which are simply structured, miniaturized, and made low-cost. SOLUTION: The optical fiber positioning method comprises the steps of: mounting the optical fiber 6 on a support 5; vibrating the support 5; and positioning the optical fiber 6 at a node of a standing wave formed on the support 5. The optical fiber positioning device comprises the support 5 for mounting the optical fiber 6 thereon, and an excitation part 3 for vibrating the support 5, and positions the optical fiber at the node of the standing wave formed on the support 5. Further, the optical switch is provided with a support and an excitation part, positions the selected optical fiber at the node of the standing wave formed on the support, and connects the selected optical fibers so that their end faces are opposed to each other and switches between transmission routes.
