PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital camera capable of suppressing consumption of a battery due to light emission of a strobe when the residual capacity of the battery is small and obtaining an excellent object image to which no affect of a camera-shake is caused. SOLUTION: A CPU 32 controls a light emission control section 82 so as to allow the strobe 84 so as not to emit light with a light emission amount smaller than that in an ordinary light emission state when the residual capacity of a power supply battery 80 is less than a prescribed capacity and controls a GCA 17 so that the apparent sensitivity of a CCD 14 gets higher than that in the ordinary light emission state.
