PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a clad assembly which is easily manufactured and is hardly broken during rolling, and to provide a method capable of manufacturing a clad plate having high bonding strength hardly breaking the clad assembly during rolling. SOLUTION: The bendable dummy materials are covered on side faces of a slab obtained by laminating base materials and clad materials, and their whole periphery is welded to obtain an assembly. then the assembly is rolled at the rolling starting temperature of 800-950°C, the draft per one pass of 5-25% and the total draft of≥40% to manufacture the clad assembly.
