PURPOSE: A tablet coating agent comprising at least one film-forming polymer and at least one film modifier is provided. It forms protective film coating having improved mechanical strength and resistance to film's decomposition and provides a tablet improved in a visual aspect during manufacture, storage, transportation and handling by the user. CONSTITUTION: The tablet coating agent comprises: at least one film-forming polymer having a glass transition temperature of 35 to 120deg.C and a neutralization degree in the range of 30 to 100%; and at least one film modifier. The film-forming polymer is one or more monomers selected from the group consisting of acrylic acid, methacrylic acid, itaconic acid, hydroxyalkyl(meth)acrylic acid, maleic acid, alkyl(meth)acrylate, hydroxyalkyl(meth)acrylate and styrene. The film modifier is selected from the group consisting of a plasticizer, a cohesion agent, a dispersion agent and a mixture thereof.
