PREPARATION METHOD OF ARABINOXYLAN FROM VEGETABLE FIBER

PURPOSE: A method for preparing arabinoxylan from a vegetable fiber is provided, to obtain arabinoxylan which is physiologically excellent and is stable as food with high purity and yield. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises the steps of suspending a vegetable fiber in a basic aqueous solution to prepare a suspension; heating the suspension to perform base hydrolysis; adding a neutralizer to the solution to neutralize it; and separating the neutralized solution. Preferably the concentration of the basic aqueous solution is 0.01-0.50 N; the vegetable fiber contains at least 5 % of arabinoxylan as a part of sugar based on the weight of dry vegetable fiber; and hydrolysis is carried out at a temperature of 80-95 deg.C; and the reaction time for hydrolysis is determined within the condition that a solubilization ratio is 30% or more and an occupancy ratio of arabinoxylan is 50% or more.
