PURPOSE: A voltage generator is provided to reduce power consumption and at the same time to reduce current consumption of a supply voltage, by controlling a pulse voltage of an oscillator and thus controlling pumping capability through a simple switch operation. CONSTITUTION: The first voltage detector(210) detects a voltage level, and outputs an oscillation signal when the voltage level reaches a target voltage. The first pumping circuit(220) performs an oscillation and pumping operation, and ends the oscillation operation when an oscillation end signal is inputted from the first voltage detector. The second pumping circuit(230) pumps the voltage inputted from the first pumping circuit and then outputs it to the first voltage detector. The second voltage detector(240) detects a voltage level from the second pumping circuit, and outputs a core voltage applying signal when the voltage level reaches a target voltage. And a switch part(250) outputs a power supply voltage to the first pumping circuit, and outputs a core voltage to the first pumping circuit when the core voltage applying signal is inputted from the second voltage detector.
