PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light emitting type plane display device such as a plasma display device capable of improving a heat dissipation efficiency in both of a lateral type and a vertical type while being made thinn in thickness. SOLUTION: The display device is provided with a display panel, a driving IC which is electrically connected to the display panel and a heat sink which is thermally connected to the driving IC. Sheet-like fins are formed in the heat sink, and faces of the fins are arranged in parallel to a display face of the display panel. Since the faces of the fins in the heat sink become vertical to a device installation face irrespective of lateral or vertical installation of the display device with such arrangement, heat transmitted from driving IC to the fins heats air around the fins and heated air causes convection along the faces of the fins. Thus, heat can efficiently be radiated by natural convection without stagnancy. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
