PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a slitter for a wall paper pasting machine which successfully stretches even stubborn creases and thereby, ensures the straight cutting of a wall covering material all the time. SOLUTION: In the slitter for cutting the edge part of the sheet-like wall covering material to be conveyed to the wall paper sheet pasting machine, a circular rotary blade for cutting the wall covering material, a feed stage part for conveying the wall covering material along at least the cutting position of the rotary blade including a position right before the former and a tension applying means for applying tension to the wall covering material by pressing it to the stage part.
