METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING ZEOLITE MICROSPHERIC FORMED BODY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a zeolite microspheric formed body having excellent mechanical strength and wear resistance and uniform grain size distribution. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing a zeolite microspheric formed body includes the following processes (a) to (d). They are: (a) a process of preparing a mixture powder of zeolite and a binder having the water content in the range of K±4 wt.%, wherein K differs depending on the species of zeolite and represents an appropriate water content so as to make extrusion molding possible when the content of the binder ranges from 2 to 40 wt.% of the whole solid content; (b) a process of forming the above mixture powder into pellets having 0.5 to 5 mm diameter (D); (c) a process of forming the pellets into spheric formed body in a sphere shaping machine; and (d) a process of drying and/or firing the spheric formed body.
