PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid ejection head employing a surface acoustic wave in which stabilization in the shape of a meniscus and quicker refill of liquid can be realized by improving the arranging mode of a structure at a liquid ejecting section, and deterioration of ejection characteristics due to scattering of the surface acoustic wave on the structure is prevented. SOLUTION: In the liquid ejection head comprising a liquid ejecting section having liquid ejection openings, a means for supplying liquid to the liquid ejecting section, and a means for imparting the liquid in the liquid ejecting section with ejecting energy, the energy imparting means comprises a surface acoustic wave generating means, and a surface acoustic wave propagation body for imparting the surface acoustic wave to liquid in the liquid ejecting section touching the liquid ejection openings.
