PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved solution means suitable for simplifying a manufacturing process while making the manufacturing process shorter and simpler to thereby reduce a cost. SOLUTION: This vertical scaffolding member 16 comprises a tubular part 14 provided with the n-number of radially projecting sockets 17 distributed around in star arrangement to fit one end of a horizontal cross member of a scaffolding. The sockets 17 are defined by a metal strip 1 folded to form a closed star 11 provided with recessed regions which press the tubular part 14, and protuberant parts alternately positioned to form the sockets 17. Upper and lower edges of the recessed region in contact with the tubular part are welded with continuous or discontinuous annular welding beads 15. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
