PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To give beneficial information to the user of a digital broadcast receiver in an easily understandable mode. SOLUTION: When a broadcast receiver receives service information (SI), whether or not the version of the current SI is updated is judged on the basis of the first acquired service information in a step S61. When the version is updated, the difference A is calculated in the starting time of the currently broadcast program between the reference SI and the current SI in a step S62. When it is judged that the starting time is changed (the difference A is not 0) in a step S63, the difference A is preserved in a memory as a deviated time and the deviated time is displayed on a screen in a step S64. When it is judged that the starting time is not changed in the step S63, the difference B in the duration of the currently broadcast program between the reference SI and current SI is calculated in a step S65. When it is judged that the duration is changed (the difference B is not 0) in a step S66, the difference B is preserved in the memory as a deviated time in a step S67 and, at the same time, the deviated time is displayed on the screen.
