PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To inform a verification apparatus of a method of generating verification data or the like. SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus 10 discriminates a recording system set by a user. When the recording system set by the user is the JPEG system, the imaging apparatus generates verification data of JPEG image data according to a first generating method. Then the imaging apparatus generates a JPEG image file including the JPEG image data, the verification data of the JPEG image data, algorithm data being data denoting the first generating method, and position data or the like being data denoting a location of data (JPEG image data) that are an object of the verification data.
