INK, METHOD FOR INKJET RECORDING, INK CARTRIDGE, RECORDING UNIT AND INKJET RECORDING APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide water-based ink comprising a resin-bound type and self-dispersible pigment, eliminating problems such as jetting bending or wet nonjetting, suppressing stains due to rubbing after printing and improving marker resistance to printing stains when a water-based marker is applied to an image after printing while having reliability of the ink for a recording head with especially slight variation of throughput and to provide a method for inkjet recording and an apparatus therefor.

SOLUTION: The water-based ink comprises a modified pigment having organic groups chemically bound to the surfaces of pigment particles and an aqueous medium as a dispersion medium for the pigment. The organic groups contain a reaction product of functional groups bound directly or chemically through other atomic groups to the pigment surfaces with a copolymer composed of an ionic monomer, a hydrophobic monomer and a nonionic monomer containing at least one hydroxy group. Pieces of inkjet equipment are provided.
