PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for acquiring an instruction to control a computer by the use of a DTMF signal which is received from a telephone line, and sending the acquired instruction to the computer through a serial communication interface, and to provide its method. SOLUTION: The computer remote control module apparatus includes: a telephone line interface for converting the DTMF signal received through the telephone line into the one with a voltage level to be recognized by a control part, and outputting it; an amplifying part for amplifying the signal from the telephone line interface, filtering it, and outputting it; an A/D converting part for converting an analog signal from the amplifying part into a digital signal, and outputting it; and the control part for analyzing the digital signal from the A/D converting part, extracting the computer remote control instruction included in the DTMF signal, and controlling a first or second relay based on the computer remote control instruction, or generating a message by the instruction so as to output it to the serial communication interface.
