PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a negative charge type toner which has an electrostatic charge rising characteristic excellent in the stress of the extreme degree and can maintain excellent characteristics, such as electrostatic charge characteristic, to the lapse of time and environmental changes, a toner container packed with the toner, an image forming apparatus with the toner container mounted thereon, and an image forming method using the toner. SOLUTION: The negative charge type toner contains at least a binder resin, an electrostatic charge controlling agent, a coloring agent, and external additives, in which the acid value of the toner is≤10 KOHmg/g and the external additives consist of at least two kinds of: (a) hydrophobic silica; and titanium oxide prepared by subjecting the titanium oxide particulate manufactured by a wet process to surface treatment by alkyl alkoxy silane.
