<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent disordered stacking of sheets of different sizes at the sheet discharge opening or dropping of a sheet from a discharged sheet tray. <P>SOLUTION: Print job data including a print control command is inputted from an information processor and print sheet size data is extracted from the print control command. Size of a sheet on a discharged sheet tray is determined by receiving a signal from a section for detecting the size of a sheet moved onto the discharged sheet tray by utilizing the movement at the forward end of the sheet when it is discharged onto the discharged sheet tray. A print job is started if the print sheet size is identical to the size of the sheet on the discharged sheet tray, otherwise, information notifying presence of a sheet of different sheet size is transmitted to the information processor. The print job is started when the sheet detecting section detects removal of the sheet on the discharged sheet tray within a specified time after transmission. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
