PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for site-selectively producing an enolate compound having a substituent at theβ-position. SOLUTION: The method for producing the enolate compound represented by general formula (3) involves reacting anα,β-unsaturated ketone represented by general formula (1) (wherein, R<SP>1</SP>and R<SP>2</SP>are each a 1-10C alkyl group which may be substituted with one or more the same or different substituent selected from a halogen, an aliphatic hydrocarbon group, an aryl group, an alkyloxy group, an aryloxy group, a hydrocarbon-substituted silyloxy group and a hydrocarbon-substituted silyl group, or may form a ring structure by bonding to each other) with an organotitanium compound represented by general formula (2) (R<SP>3</SP>is an aryl group which may be substituted with one or more the same or different substituents selected from a halogen, an alkyl group, an aryl group, an alkyloxy group, an aryloxy group and a hydrocarbon-substituted silyl group; and Y is a 1-6C alkoxy group) in the presence of a rhodium catalyst.
