PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable telephone in which unnecessary call termination non-response display can be prohibited. SOLUTION: A control section 104 provided in a portable telephone has a function for comparing the count of a timer 105 under such a situation as a call from the opposite party cannot be responded with a preset specified count. When the telephone number of the opposite party stored in a memory A103 has been stored previously in a memory B104, an arrival mail notice and the record of calls terminated during absence are displayed at an LCD display section 107 before the count is compared with a threshold value. Display operation is controlled by a call terminal non-response display function such that when the telephone number of the opposite party has not been stored previously in the memory B104, the count is compared with the threshold value and the arrival mail notice and the record of calls terminated during absence are displayed if the count is not smaller than the threshold value otherwise the arrival mail notice and the record of calls terminated during absence are not displayed.
