PURPOSE: A system and a method for offering a character service using a web server are provided to form diverse messages and know information for a member of a user group depending on a desired state by using a character or an avatar message as a medium for a communication tool. CONSTITUTION: A user information search module(111) searches the user information from a database. A converting module(112) analyzes/converts the information transmitted from the user into the character or avatar information based on the user's character or avatar information searched from the database. A transmitting module(113) transmits the character or avatar message of the user to other user of the user group. A calculating module calculates an affection index between users by considering various factors including a service use frequency and a character or the avatar exchange frequency. An analyzing module(114) periodically selects the best user group expressing the best affection index by comparing the affection index of the user group with the affection index of other user group. A cash module(116) calculates/accumulates a cash point proportion to the affection index.
