PURPOSE: A home network system of a digital television and a home network controlling method are provided to simultaneously control a plurality of home appliances through a single command. CONSTITUTION: A home network system includes a memory(14) for storing menu data for controlling a home network operation, an OSD processor(12) for displaying the menu data in an OSD menu form, and a display(13) for displaying the OSD menu processed by the OSD processor. The home network system further includes a selector(11) for selecting a home appliance to be controlled and at least two control commands of the selected home appliance with reference to the displayed OSD menu, and a controller(15). The controller combines the selected home appliance with the control commands and stores them in the memory as a single command group. The controller transmits a control command included in the command group to the selected home appliance at the request of a user.
