PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a processing device for a paper sheet and a processing method for the same which can both shorten processing time for maintenance and inspection, and raise an operational rate for the device. SOLUTION: A paper-money processing machine has an inspection part 5 for inspecting a paper-money P carried through a carrying route. The inspection part 5 has a sensor Si for detecting an image of the paper-money P, a sensor Sf for detecting fluorescent material, a sensor St for detecting thickness, a sensor Sm for detecting magnetic material. The inspection part 5 also has a storage log part 26 for storing the sensor output for each of the sensors in chronological order. The sensor output stored by the storage log part 26 is read out by a PC 12 via a control part 8, and the output log is displayed via a display part. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
