PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for conveying a work in a transfer press by which the work is rapidly conveyed between a plurality of press stations and moved vertically, and an apparatus for the same. SOLUTION: In this work conveying method for conveying the work between a plurality of the press stations 16, the work is horizontally moved to the position of a prescribed press station 16 in the direction of the line L within the transfer press 11, then moved vertically to the height necessary to carry only the work in or away from the press station 16 in the position of the press station 16 and carried in or away.
