PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a PVA-based conductive yarn which controls flocculation of carbon even in the case of mixing an aqueous solution of a PVA once prepared with an aqueous dispersion of carbon, has reduced variation of conductive performances in the length direction of the fiber and uniform and stabilized conductive performances in good operability. SOLUTION: The method for producing the polyvinyl alcohol-based conductive yarn comprises mixing the aqueous solution of the polyvinyl alcohol with the aqueous dispersion of conductive carbon fine particle to give a spinning dope, spinning the dope and drawing a yarn. An aqueous dispersion of conductive carbon fine particle mixed with a nonionic surfactant is used. The spinning dope obtained by mixing an aqueous solution of the polyvinyl alcohol with 1-15mass% of the nonionic surfactant and 5-25mass% of the conductive carbon fine particle based on the polyvinyl alcohol is used.
