PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultraviolet irradiation apparatus having a sufficiently practical simple structure and capable of certainly performing the irradiation with ultraviolet rays. SOLUTION: In an ultrasonic irradiation apparatus wherein a spiral water passage is provided to the periphery of an ultraviolet light source, a space is provided between the adjacent water channels in the spiral water channel and the reflecting plate surrounding the spiral water channel is provided. A reflecting plate comprises aluminum or an aluminum alloy plate and it is preferable to provide a means for introducing nitrogen gas in the periphery of the spiral water channel.
