FIELD: X-ray equipment. SUBSTANCE: method is implemented by irradiation of object with polychromatic X-ray beam, by isolation of spectral components of radiation passed through object, by transmission of radiation through interface of two media with sliding incidence of analyzed beam and by recording of angular distribution of intensity of radiation passed through interface. Method is realized with the use of device incorporating source of polychromatic X-radiation, collimator, aids for movement of object with reference to X-ray beam, dispersive element coming in the form of wedge made of material that does not show any photoabsorption discontinuity in analyzed band of spectrum and radiation detecting aids. Technical result of invention consists in rise of speed of determination of composition of inspected object by 2-3 orders and in multiple improvement of spectral resolution in energy region of about 10.0 keV.
