PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a displacement meter having a structure having a small detection error even in an environment wherein foreign matters formed mainly of iron powders or the like exist in the periphery, for example, inside an internal combustion engine. SOLUTION: In this displacement meter 2 for detecting movement of a detection object, a detection core 3 and a detection part 4 are provided relatively movably, and a foreign matter adhesion suppression part 5 for blocking accumulation of the foreign matters between the detection core 3 and the detection part 4 is provided on a part of the detection core 3. The foreign matter adhesion suppression part 5 may comprise a prescribed space part 10 formed so as to have the larger distance between the detection core 3 and a housing 8 of the detection part 4 than other parts.
