PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a traction drive device compact in the radial direction, and obtaining the high gear ratio. SOLUTION: This traction drive device includes a sun outer roller 11, first and second planetary rollers 21A and 21B forming a planetary mechanism together with the sun outer roller, first and second carriers 31A and 31B for restricting respective rotary shafts by sandwiching these rollers, a first sun inner roller 12A having a contact surface of the first planetary roller and a second sun inner roller having a contact surface of the second planetary roller. The first and second carriers have respectively a horizontally extending rotary shaft, and are rotatably journaled in the first and second sun inner rollers, and the first and second sun inner rollers are respectively supported in a casing. The rotary shafts of the planetary mechanism are inclined by a prescribed angle to the horizontally extending rotary shaft, and the first and second sun inner rollers also have the tapered contact surface inclined by the prescribed angle.
