PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify processing in an OSD IC (on screen display integrated circuit) in updating an OSD screen in a video display device with an OSD display function using the OSD IC that can store OSD data only for one screen. SOLUTION: This video display device with the OSD display function using the OSD IC 1 that can store OSD data only for one screen is provided with the OSD IC 1 for combining video data and OSD data, and a CPU 2 which can store lower OSD data and upper OSD data corresponding to the lower screen and the upper screen of the OSD screen, combines the lower OSD data and the upper OSD data and writes the combined OSD data in the OSD IC 1.
