PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the designing flexibility of a reel body of a spinning reel having a front drag mechanism or a rear drag mechanism. SOLUTION: This reel body 2a of the spinning reel is provided with a 1st opening 2c formed at the rear end and an attaching part 2d formed around the 1st opening 2c and tapered toward the 1st opening. The attaching part 2d has a 1st cover member 40 and a 2nd cover member 50 selectively connected smoothly to a part connected to the attaching part 2d of the reel body 2a. The 1st cover member 40 is attached in a manner to close the 1st opening 2c and a rear drag mechanism is attached to the rear end of the 2nd cover member 50. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
