PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a switching power supply, provided with a soft start circuit which obviates external capacitors and allows capacitors to be incorporated into a semiconductor chip. SOLUTION: The switching power supply comprises a control circuit 10, an output circuit 6 controlled by the control circuit 10, an output terminal 7, and a feedback circuit 9. The control circuit 10 comprises the soft start circuit 1; an error amplifier 2, a comparator 3, a triangular wave generating circuit 4 which oscillates triangular waves, a driver 5, a reference voltage source 8, a feedback terminal 11, a drive output terminal 12, and a ground terminal 13.
