PURPOSE: A system for selecting the menu of telematics and a method for the same are provided to rapidly select the desired menu among the frequently used menus stored at the display unit of the telematics. CONSTITUTION: A system for selecting the menu of telematics provided with a display unit(40) capable of displaying a plurality of menus on the front surface of the body includes a search switch unit(20), a plurality of shortcut switch unit(30) and a control block(10). The search switch unit(20) is capable of searching the menu on the display screen of the display unit(40) with scrolling up and down the menu. The plurality of shortcut switch unit(30) is formed on a portion of the front surface of the body for displaying a specific menu among the menus on the predetermined position of the display screen of the display unit(40). And, the control block(10) controls the operation of the search switch unit(20) or the operation of the shortcut switch unit(30) in such a way that the desired menu is searched on the display screen of the display unit(40).
