PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic EL element which has sufficient brightness, which is superior in stability and durability, and in which realization of large area is possible and manufacturing is easy. SOLUTION: This organic electroluminescent element is constituted of one or a plurality of organic compound layers pinched between a pair of electrodes consisting of a positive electrode and a negative electrode, of which at least one is transparent or semi-transparent. At least one layer of the organic compound layers contains one or more kinds of electric charge transfer polyesters composed of repeated units containing as a part structure at least one kind selected from the structure shown by following general formulae (I-1) and (I-2).
