<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To store the setting of image generation in an original document to generate an image by using a semiconductor chip capable of reading data by non-contact. <P>SOLUTION: A UI (user interface) section 510 accepts a printing parameter set by a user. A data reading section 520 reads the printing parameter from an original sheet. An image reading section 500 reads an image from the original sheet. When an IC chip is attached to the original sheet, a parameter selecting section 530 selects the printing parameter, and in the other case, the section 530 selects the parameter set by the user.
