<p>A miter saw (10) includes a table (12) on which a workpiece is placed, a saw assembly (20) supporting a saw blade (22) and having a motor (21) for rotatably driving the saw blade (22), a housing (15) pivotally supporting the saw assembly (20) related to the table (12) in such a manner that the saw assembly (20) is at least laterally pivotable, and a bevel stop mechanism (30) for selectively determining the lateral position of the saw assembly (20) at any of a plurality of pivoted positions, the bevel stop mechanism (30) comprising a movable rod (31) and first, second and third fixed stop members (32,33,34).
