PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat developing system providing a diagnostic image with a stable image quality using less labor and expense. SOLUTION: A cleaning means 12 is provided for cleaning lining rubber 112 (heating drum circumferential surface). The cleaning means 12 has a cleaning part 121, which has a cleaning web 121a. The cleaning part 121 is separated from a heating drum 11 while a film F (heat developing material) is under heating treatment by the heating drum 11. When starting cleaning of the lining rubber 112, the heating drum 11 is rotated in a state that the cleaning web 121a is made to abut on the lining rubber 112.
