PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bogie drive unit for automating the operation to retract a bogie into a retraction truck. SOLUTION: The bogie drive unit 1 for guiding the bogie B parked away from the bogie retraction truck toward the bogie retraction truck is set on the bogie B for the use thereof. The unit 1 includes a plurality of drive wheels 2 contacting the tread of a wheel G of the bogie B, a pressure-applying means that presses the plurality of drive wheels 2 onto the wheel G, a drive source that rotates the plurality of drive wheels 2 simultaneously, a storage battery supplying electric power to the drive source, and a control means for remotely controlling the performance of the drive source and pressure-applying means.
