<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain comparable luminance by totally reflecting light from an incident part at any position of a light guide plate. <P>SOLUTION: A light guide plate 2 has an incident part 3 for guiding light from a light source 8, and a front face part 5 and a rear face part 6 which cross with the incident part 3 at an almost right angle. Optical deflection elements 7 are disposed on the front face part 5 and a rear face part 6 of the light guide plate 2. The optical deflection element 7 is composed of a recessed shape having area walls having four sides of concentric circle arc with a predetermined curvature centering each of four incident parts 3. Light entering the light guide plate 2 from each light source 8 is totally reflected on the area walls of a recessed shape of the optical deflection element 7 and advances toward a surface opposite to a surface on which the optical deflection element 7 is provided and finally comes out of a surface part 5 of the light guide plate 2. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
