PURPOSE: A method for preventing an APS(Automatic Protection Switching) reception error in an optical transmission system is provided to secure the stable switching operation of the optical transmission system by preventing a bit error capable of being generated in an APS byte. CONSTITUTION: A transmission terminal performs the CRC(Cyclic Redundancy Checking) of APS data, and transmits the APS data to a reception terminal. If the change of the received APS data is generated and an CRC error is not detected, the reception terminal transits a current state into a valid APS verification state(104-110). The reception terminal judges the state of the APS data in the valid APS verification state(112). The reception terminal performs the CRC of the APS data in the valid APS verification state(114). If the change of the APS data is not generated and the CRC error is not detected, the reception terminal accumulates the number of the valid APS data(116). If the number of the valid APS data is same to or greater than a certain value(118), the reception terminal generates an APS event(120). |
