The invention relates to a method for generating two-dimensional image information from a structured surface, a body or a space, in particular for simulating the surface, body or space with a 3D appearance. Said method is characterised by the following steps: scanning of the surface or the body in order to generate two-dimensional image information using a 2D scanner, scanning of the surface or the body in order to generate three-dimensional image information using a 3D scanner, linking of the 2D and 3D data according to predeterminable specifications to deliberately enhance the plotting and two-dimensional representation of the obtained image.
