The housing has inset light emitting diodes and has no sharp edges or corners that the light from the light emitting diodes has to pass through, irrespective of the angle at which the light passes through within the possible radiation range. The housing contains an electronic circuit on a circuit board that switches on the LEDs if it is mechanically vibrated or moved. An independent claim is also included for the following: (a) an electronic circuit for a rim light for a motor vehicle.
