<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a printer having a function for informing a digital camera of a sort of a trimming printing method able to be processed and the digital camera for providing a user interface suited to the sort of the trimming printing method allowed to be processed by the printer. <P>SOLUTION: The PD printer 1000 directly transmits capability information including information indicating the sort of the trimming printing method allowed to be processed by the PD printer 1000 to the digital camera 3012.
