PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the top surface of a packaging box from being easily crushed even in receiving load from the upper side while being handled. SOLUTION: This packing device has a rectangular parallelepiped shaped packaging box comprising a bottom box which holds a plasma display device under a standing state, and an upper box 21 which is placed on the bottom box. The top surface part 26 of the upper box 21 of the packaging box is constituted of two first cut and stood pieces 27 and two second cut and stood pieces 28. In this case, the first cut and stood piece 27 is provided on a shorter edge of the opening part 26a on the top surface, and has a notch 29 on the distal end parts being confronted with each other. The second cut and stood piece 28 is provided on a longer edge of the opening part 26a on the top surface in a manner to be superposed on the first cut and stood piece 27, and a flap 30 which is fitted in the notch 29 of the first cut and stood piece 27 is provided on the distal end part which is butted to each other of the second cut and stood piece 28.
