PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refrigerator capable of confirming the operating state thereof over a long period ranging from the start of use thereof to the time of a failure when the cause of the failure is investigated at the time of the failure. SOLUTION: This refrigerator comprises an operation sensing means sensing the operation of a compressor and an operation time count means counting an operation time. The refrigerator also comprises an energizing means determining a time interval for energizing a defrosting heater by the cumulative value of the operation time, a number of times count means counting the number of times of the energization to the defrosting heater, a cumulative means integrating the number of times of the sensing by the number of times of count means for a long period, a storage means capable of storably holding the integrated number of times even when a power is turned off, and a reading means capable of reading the data in the storage means from the outside.
