PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate the removing work for an obstacle in the case of coming across the obstacle when an element is inserted into the ground while excavating the ground by the extremity. SOLUTION: An earth retaining plate 5 is retractably installed forwarder than the extremity 12 of a tubular element 1 inserted and embedded in the ground in its axial direction while excavating the ground at the extremity opening and installed along at least a part of the peripheral wall of the element 1 to excavate a front natural ground G projecting from the extremity 12 of the element 1. The earth retaining wall necessary for removing the obstacle 8 can be formed by projecting the plate 5 even if the obstacle 8 hindering insertion of the element 10 into the ground is present when the element 10 is inserted and embedded in its axial direction while excavating the ground at the extremity 12 opening.
