PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a hyaluronic acid production promotor which has excellent production promoting effect on hyaluronic acid, is high in safety and stability, and is applicable to the human body as a therapeutic agent for treating wrinkles, rheumatic arthritis and that for treating initial stages of burn. SOLUTION: This hyaluronic acid production promotor comprises acidic xylooligosaccharides containing a uronic acid residue in the each xylooligosaccharide molecule as an active ingredient. The xylooligosaccharides are a mixed composition of oligosaccharides having different polymerization degrees of xylose and have preferably 2.0-3.0 average polymerization degree.
