[Also in Division E1] In a method of producing a reinforced expanded plastics panel a mixture of resin, expanding agent and catalyst is introduced into a mould cavity and a honeycomb grid structure e.g. of paper, cardboard, pasteboard or light metal is allowed to sink into the expanding resin which rises through the grid cells until the mould is filled, and, after setting, the resulting article is cut, e.g. by a band saw, into panels. The grid may be pre-impregnated with a resin. |
